TC7.5PB2 click V-Folder from Breadcrumb starts NetworkConn.
Go to Breadcumb, select a virtual folder.
Ex. Eigene Dateien: Now, you are on the virtual folder \\Eigene Dateien\*.*
Click on the Path to enable the Path Edit. => the field is white and shows \\Eigene Dateien\
Now, press enter on \\Eigene Dateien\ and TC will try to open a Network Connection to \\Eigene Dateien\.

Cannot confirm under Win2KSP4-1, however TC's behavior does seem a little suspicious. When selecting "\\My computer" or "\\My Network Places" and going to edit mode in the path bar, when Enter is pressed, TC exits edit mode and shows C:\ in the file panel. In addition, there seems to be a 2-3 seconds delay before showing C:\, but only in the "\\My computer" case. The same thing (with the additional delay) also happens with the Recycle Bin virtual path.FFInformatik wrote:Now, press enter on \\Eigene Dateien\ and TC will try to open a Network Connection to \\Eigene Dateien\.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Indeed you can't edit virtual folders this way. What would you prefer as the default in the edit box when a virtual folder is shown?
1. An empty edit box so you can enter any path like c:\ manually?
2. Try to get the directory of the virtual folder and show that?
3. Other (make suggestions please)?

I don't want to ignore it because people may actually want to enter a path manually even when e.g. in "My Computer"...

The problem is that there might be a share with the same name as the virtual folder (not "My Computer" because of the space, but "Desktop"). What I could do is not change path when the name remains unchanged.
Btw, the main idea of making it editable in that case was to give the user a chance to copy the name with Ctrl+C...

Wouldn't the share be something like "\\SomePC\Desktop"? The Desktop virtual folder is "\\Desktop" which is different. TC shouldn't confuse them...ghisler(Author) wrote:The problem is that there might be a share with the same name as the virtual folder (not "My Computer" because of the space, but "Desktop").
If everything else fails, this sounds a logical option.ghisler(Author) wrote:What I could do is not change path when the name remains unchanged.

Yup, i thought of that too. How about using \\\\Desktop\ for virtual folders then. \\\ is used for plugins, \\\\ could be used for virtual folders. It may be too much but instead of four backslashes, another character could be used (/ perhaps?).Samuel wrote:What if the name of the PC is "Desktop"?
