Feature? Default.bar link not shown in bar menu.

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Feature? Default.bar link not shown in bar menu.

Post by *ZoSTeR »

Bar entries referring to the default.bar are not shown in menu mode.

This seems to be intended and is actually useful (in this scenario) but I couldn't find any info about this behavior.

This is done so that you can't open another bar from a linked menu bar, disallowing hierarchy and nested bars, IMO it's not a bug.

What would make the linked bars more useful is to allow the bar to drop down when you drag a file to the button, so that you can drop the file and open it in one of the programs in the drop down bar.

Well it works with any other .bar file. Just links to "default" behave differently.

It's an itentional behaviour because only the current bar link is hided. In the case that the default.bar is your current bar then only the default.bar link is hided. In the case current bar is not the default.bar then the default.bar link is shown.

Yes, you're right. Didn't test it with two custom bars.
But I think the help file could use a little more info about menu creation and behavior (at least in the final 7.5).

Yes, this behaviour is indeed intentional.
