I live in Israel, and use 3 language : english, hebrew, russian...
with englsih no problem, no problem with second language (setuped in non-unicode language support in windows), but with another one problem like with any other language not supported by windows codepage...

ps. sorry for my bad english

What operations do you miss? One of TC 7.5 goals is to be Unicode compatible and... it is. Just take a look on newest beta versions.

me too...

I would also like full support for foreign character sets.
For example I have some itunes files for chinese/japanese songs.
When ever I use TC7.4 to move/backup these files I get i/o errors which show the file names as a series of question marks (in the message).
Thus the action fails and I have to use windows tools to fiddle the directories/files involved. The failure is only on the DELETE part of the move, the files do get copied.

I can see the directory name in chinese/japanese when viewing a list of them in TC.
I cannot open the directory, I cannot open the file (I get file not found).

I hope this makes sense.
Should this be a bug report?

Thanks
Colin

Please, download and try TC 7.5 (still beta). It does support Unicode and has no problems with files containing various characters. The only problem is that other applications must also support it!

You'll have "File not found" messages from other applications but this is not TC bug. This is rather the case of 3rd party tools being unable to handle this feature.

As an example, take a look here:
http://fenixproductions.dcmembers.com/tmp/tc/01_uni.png

No problem with such directories as long as wanted application can handle them. I neither have any issue with text files names containing "strange" characters.. They all open in Notepad++ properly though few other editors called for errors.

Please be sure that your tools can work with problematic files/folders before reporting bug.

I just installed it and ran a test on my japanese files and IT WORKED!
7.4 will not start itunes with the song, but 7.5 does.

Thanks...
Colin
