TC7.5 Difference in sorting of files

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC7.5 Difference in sorting of files

Post by *silencer »

This evening i noticed a difference in the sorting of files in TC7.5 and TC7.04a. Files without a name before the dot (for example ".ext") are sorted different.

In TC7.04a this file seems to be treated as a file without extention, in TC7.5 it's treated as extention without name.

It changed from TC7.5PB1.

Maybe this is the reason:

history.txt:
23.12.08: Fixed: Changed file sorting methods 0-2 to use CompareStringW on NT-based systems (not available on Win9x) to get similar sorting as older versions

Yes, there are small differences, which are due to the switch from Ansi to Unicode.

Please add a .ini option to change the behaviour for .files - it is *extremely* annoying and it shouldn't be much work to "pre-sort" if file a is a .file and file b isn't a .file.
