Moving files in brief mode - cursor positioning error

Post by *wanderer »

TC756a under WinXPSP3.

Brief mode, many files exist in a folder so two columns of files are shown. Select the top file of column 2 and press F6 then Enter. When the file is moved, the source list is refreshed and the cursor instead of being placed on the 2nd file of column 2 (which is now becoming 1st, after moving the file), it is placed in the beginning of the list (on the ".." of column 1). The same thing happens if the list contains 3 or 4 columns of files. If you move the first file of each column, the cursor is placed in the beginning of the list ("..") after the refresh and not on the file after the file that was moved. This bug does not occur when you move other files though, the cursor is normally placed in the file after the file that was moved.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Cannot confirm. XP SP3, TC 7.56a. Two columns of files, when I move top file in 2nd column, cursor then remains at top file in 2nd column.

Well, as described in there, it probably is the same. I did not see that, thanks for the link. Christian never answered if he could verify it though so it might be good reopening it with new info on how to reproduce it.

Well, if we're talking about background copying, I can confirm situation. If I press F6 and then F2 instead of Enter, TC copies file in background and then refreshes panel and resets cursor position.
