[8.0ß23 x64] Visual artifact in MRT

Post by *Giovanni »

In the multi rename tool dialog, the bottom left edge of the "Replace with" box is covered partially by the [E] checkbox label - the z-order is incorrect. Only with the 64bit version - 32bit is fine.

Sorry, not reproduced (Windows 7 x64). Which Windows version and theme do you use?

Confirmed Win7 aero.

You need the magnifier tool (x16) to see that the lower border line of the replace edit text box is partially covered at the left (about 9-10 pixel) with the gray background color.
It may help if you set the focus to the rename edit box (blue focus rectangle instead of darker gray rectangle).

I can confirm it - if I place the cursor in the "Replace with" field - see http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/renametool.png

WinXP x64 edition with default theme.

I didn't need any magnifier or anything else, unlike the other posters who confined (thanks for confirming, guys) as it was quite obvious.

Monitor resolution 96 dpi
-> pixel height is (2.54 * 10 / 96) ~= 0,264 mm

Angular resolution of the human eye: 0.5' - 1'
Viewing distance 1500mm
-> 0,218 - 0,436mm

As the contrast between white, gray and dark gray isn't optimal, most likely 0,5 mm.
This is at the limit of what older eyes can see.
And presbyopia prevents me from pressing my nose on the screen. :wink:

Seems to be font-specific - I was using Segoe UI 8, no problem. I can see a very small difference in color of the frame with Microsoft Sans Serif, almost invisible...

Please, check more standard font - Tahoma 8pt.
May be, that's it.

Yes, I can confirm the fix with TC 8.0ß25 x64 / win7 aero / default ini-file.
