Missing ding sound when searching in Compare by Content

Post by *umbra »

There is another minor problem when searching backwards in Compare by Content. I can reproduce it with the same steps and a test file I created the last time:

Code: Select all

123
456
1. Create a file with the above content.
2. Compare that file with something else using Compare by Content.
3. Search backwards in that file for "123".
4. Keep pressing Shift-F3 until you see the "Not found" message.
5. When you see it for the first time, you can hear a ding sound. But all subsequent appearances of that message are without sound.

Tested with TC 8.01 x32 and x64. This happens only when searching backwards.

I can reproduce it with both 32bit and 64bit TC 8.01RC1 under Windows 7.

But I CANNOT reproduce it under Windows XP 32bit (same as white)

It happens only if the search string "123" is the first line in the file. If you insert another first line thus making "123" line 2, the problem will go away.

Total Commander 8.01 x64 rc1
Total Commander 8.01 x32 rc1
Total Commander 7.57a (x32 only by design)
Windows 7 Home Premium Sp1 x64

I've never said it's a release blocker. :)

27.06.12 Fixed: Quick search backwards in compare by contents: There wasn't always a beep when nothing was found (32/64)
Confirmed fixed in TC 8.01RC2 :-)

Now it works the same way in 32bit and 64bit version under Win 7 and 32bit version under Win XP

Thanks! There were two locations to report the aborted operation, but only one called MessageBeep.
