Which tool did you use for that?
I never found a satisfying one. Always did it handmade manually.
TIA.

I could reproduce it with a GIF on Windows 10 only now. Seems to be a Windows 10 bug. I will check it in the debugger.

Weird, because it happens to other image files too.

Same problem

Post by *mikiqex »

I have the same problem. 9.0beta1 32bit, Win10 Pro 64bit, using XnView in Lister for pics.

When deleting viewed picture (e.g. JPG), TC says: "access denied on file...", after TC restart, deleting the picture no longer produces access denied error.

I tried to disable XnView option, but the same access denied error appeared. When I view .txt file with Lister, it can be deleted right after that (or even during viewing, which would be expected behavior for pics as well, at least for me).

Thanks.

The good news is Christian replied to me personally and said he could reproduce the bug but only on Windows 10. The bad news is he doesn't know why yet.

But at least it was confirmed and reproduced - that's the most important part. I'm really not sure why some of you weren't seeing it.

I could fix it now! It was in a new stream object for Unicode files.

I can confirm this but only for 32bit TC9b1 (testet on Windows 7) with a clean ini file - e.g. no plugins.

I get an error for deleting, moving, and inline renaming.

For moving I get: "Acces denied for file: "
For inline renaming I get : "Cannot read: "
For deleting I get: "Handlingen blev ikke gennemført fordi filen er åben i Total Commander 32 bit" (Windows error dialog)

Once I have had the error, and I leave TC 32bit open, then I cannot delete, move or rename the file in TC 64bit, until I close TC 32 bit.

Probably the same issue with RTF files in lister.
64-bit TC in Windows 8.1.
I pressed F3 on GPLv3.rtf file (https://sourceforge.net/p/msword2chm/Source/ci/master/tree/GPLv3.rtf?format=raw) and then could not delete it even after closing the lister window.
Process explorer showed file handle, and a new handle is added each time I press F3.
It is possible to close those handles in Process explorer and then file could be deleted.

Yes, it's using the same Unicode stream. Please try with beta 2.

Now there are no issues with hanging RTF file handle in beta 2 (F3, Ctrl-Q).
