[TC9 RC1] Problem to open wfx plugin in buttonbar

Post by *Mikefield »

I cannot open the sftp plugin over the buttonbar anymore. I use following command:
%Commander_Path%\TOTALCMD64.EXE /o /r="\\\Secure FTP"

I use this start option to open the sftp connections in the right window.

Same problem with WebDAV:
%Commander_Path%\TOTALCMD64.EXE /o /r="\\\WebDAV"

Confirmed.

I just tested all the betas - it stopped working from TC9b4.

Wow, hard job! Did you start from TC9b1 or from RC1 backwards?
Thanks for confirmation! :D

First I tried beta 1 to see if the problem had always been there in TC9.

Then I went backwards - but of course it being number 4 I wish I had went the other way ;-)

Wouldn't be better to do this in the following way: we have 18 TC versions to test, so we start in the middle of this range:
- we test beta 18/2 = 9 - the problem exists,
- we test beta 9/2 ~= 5 - the problem exists,
- we test beta 5/2 ~= 3 - the problem doesn't exist,
- so finally we test beta 4 and we can see that the problem was introduced there.

Only four tests, and the job is done! ;)

Clever!

But what if the problem was in no 1:

- we test beta 18/2 = 9 - the problem exists,
- we test beta 9/2 ~= 5 - the problem exists,
- we test beta 5/2 ~= 3 - the problem exists,
- we test beta 3/2 ~= 2 - the problem exists,
- so finally we test beta 1 and we can see that the problem was introduced there.

That would have been 5 tests as compared by starting with no 1 = 1 test - so luck also matters.

Checking beta 1 first was really a good idea, because of this special reason, that this was a release with many more changes and new functionalities than any other beta later - so there was a much higher probability, that the problem was introduced here.

But it unfortunately wasn't ;)
