One last comment or a suggestion should I say.

Please, guys try to use emoticons as much as you can within readable limits of course. They help a lot to illustrate the proper tone on a discussion. A sarcastic comment followed by the proper emoticon for example can skip being classified as provocative.

We love emoticons Clo, don't we? :P

Car and petrol !

:) Hello !
ghisler(author) wrote (translated):
An ignore list which has been discussed here many times here won't be a solution, because these postings could reappear quoted.
- It's well known; it's the main inconvenience of that feature; I already told something about that a long while ago…
- However, I experienced it on a hardware-site where I'm a member (for a lot of topic-comments), and I may say that's better than nothing…
- Besides, that needs (a) moderator(s). We have moderators on that site, and they can censor / remove the "illegal" quotes contains; this is the moderator's job. ;)
- Hence, I guess that both moderators and "black-list" are necessary; a black-list without moderators is a car with an empty petrol-tank… :|
But I don't know if this is possible with the phpBB soft…

I asked once again for a blacklist and @ghisler gave eventually in because if it doesn't help it wouldn't do any harm.
I must have overseen that.

phpBB features some moderator operations: http://www.phpbb.com/support/guide/#section5

The split function sounds interesting. It can used to seperate the ugly from the nice postings. Ugly postings can be moved to a new topic which is often located in another part or even category of the forum.
This operation has a disadvantage. If an ugly posting has been added to the original thread after a parallel thread has been created somewhere else it's impossible to append this posting to the new thread. Any modifications out there?

I have created a test phpBB installation where the ignore feature can be tested. If you want to test the moderation operations click on the "Usergroups" button on the upper right, click "View information" and subscribe to the "Moderators" group.
Of course you'll have to register first.

I did not get the activation email for my account. How could I test then the 'ignore' feature.

Sounds a bit like you would provoke somebody.... :(

Thought you accepted that @ghisler wouldn't like you to.

Well, it is OK so far.

Your prayer to Clo appear to me as misplaced excepting under the pen of an "Übermensch".

Please, is it authorized to write something in this forum/board without asking Norfie's permission first :?:

It would be pleasant if you should publish a list of what Norfie find contestable or not :!:

Thank you very much!

It's a long way to Norfie before he retrieve my sympathy, but I think it is all the same to him.

If you find this post not correct enough, you are free to delete it... with or without Norfie's permission.
