In principle, a grid would be no problem - I do draw lines when using the duplicate file finder and feed to listbox. However, I want to avoid the vertical lines, because they would restrict the space where the file name etc. can be shown - so the space would be used far worse than it is now.

You are right. Christian uses some TListBox for files panel, and he just needs to add to this Listbox coloring of background for each item (e.g., in OnOwnerDraw event)

No, he don't need grid.
Just to add coloring of items background.
It's possible for his TListbox, because selected item(under cursor) is colored with background color ("Interted cursor" is checked).
