It "hangs" with all pdf files (well, I tested just with some, but...). After having written my previous message, I discovered that it doesn't really hang. The problem is that the previous page is not correct diplayed. For instance: I'm viewing page two and wanto to see page 1. I press Page Up and I get a bad image. In fact, the plugin goes to page one, but the image is not correctly updated. If I press Page down and Page Up again, It works. I'll sending you a screenshot of the incorrect image.

And about my system: A celeron 650, 256 Mb, Win XP Pro.

Thanks.

I also have some problems with your plugin:
1. It doesn't work with Aladdin Ghostscript 5.5, it gives me a conversion error
2. It works with AFPL Ghostscript, but some fonts appear as trash (unreadable lines)

So which GhostScript does work? Currently I have only these two installed, and I use Aladdin Ghostscript 5.5 to create PDFs because it creates smaller files.

As I stated in the readme 'To run pdfview.wlx you need to have the latest version of Ghostscript installed.'
Thats because they changed the api to gsdll32.dll from version 6.50 to 7.04. So at least APFL Ghostscript 7.04 is required.
2. It works with AFPL Ghostscript, but some fonts appear as trash (unreadable lines)
Could you please test the file with GSView - if it also displays trash, you need to update in your fontmap file.
See this link for more information about fonts with Ghostscript.

You can leave multiple installations of Ghostscript on your system (one for creating pdfs and one for all the other things - like pdfview ;))

Did you put it thru ? I'm trying something similar without much success (i.e run it from a USBmemo stick) without installing GS on the computer except maybe a few entries in the registery

I've just released pdfview.wlx v.0.99 (release candidate 1)!

Changes (since v.0.99):

Code: Select all

[2003-03-27] CHG: changed default path of ini-file to lspugin.ini
This version uses the new common ini file for all lister plugins (lsplugin.ini) which was introduced with TC 5.51. On older versions it stores its settings to pdfview.ini in the plugins folder.
norfie, thanks for the suggestion!

You can download it from
http://www.mp3tag.de/download/tc/wlx_pdfview_099rc1.zip

It would be great if pdfview had some options regarding the magnification of the displayed page, at least the following:
  1. Fit in window (without scroll bars)
  2. Fit to width (with vertical scroll bars if necessary)
  3. ...
Currently pdfview uses always mode 1, but then it is often hardly possible to read the page (using AFPL Ghostscript 8.00, resolution 72, window width 960 pixels = 75% of 1280).
Offering the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+- (minus sign) and Ctrl++ (plus sign) to step through all modes as Acrobat Reader and Mozilla could be an extra bonus.

Maybe difference between network installation and usbdrive installation is network has a fixed drive name (e.g. X: ) and usbdrive has different drive names (onetime D: on a other E: or so)?
Thanx for your answer:
No, after reading your answer that it works, I started all over again and it works. Problem was that being on a memo stick I striped one too many file (gswin32c.exe). My gs folder is thus 8 MB instead of 13 on the stick.

I solved the mapping issue of the USB stick with a "Subst z" in a script while installing TC on it.
