FTP Connect information

Post by *william »

I am running TotalCommander 6.53 and have setup a number of ftp connect definitions.
I now have a new laptop and would like to know if there is a way to move
my ftp connect definitions from my older laptop to the newer laptop?
Would save me time and effort as I'm not sure I remember all the passwords.
I can dig the up if there is no other way.
I have used Cuteftp and kept it in sync with TotalCommander and I was
able to copy over the Cuteftp definitions ok.

Just track down the file WCX_FTP.INI - most likely situated in c:\windows - you can see where it is placed by clicking Help -> About Total Commander.... Then simply copy WCX_FTP.INI to your new laptop

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Thank you all for your help. It worked fine copying the wcx_ftp.ini file to the new machine.

And thank you Roman for your info on Backup. This whole forum was new to me. I've been using WinCommander/TotalCommander for years and just can't survive without it. This is one of those programs that makes life easier and a "Must Have".

Thanks again!!
