thanks for your detailed description. All descriptions should be at least that detailed.

This time it reproduces the error:

1. pack a file where the "Create solid archive" is ticked.
2. close TC
3. open TC and open the same directory in boths panels
4. in the left side choose Full view
5. in the right panel choose a Custom columns view with a column that has [=totalsqx. Is Solid Archive] as one of the columns.
6. choose some files in the left panel
7. press Alt+F5
8. click OK
9. click OK
10. DELETE the just created sqx file
11. do 6 and 7 again
12. click the "Configure" button
13. remove the tickmark in the "Create solid archive" box
14. click OK
15. click OK
16. look at the just created sqx archive in the right panel - here it says YES under Is Solid Archive !!!!
17. close TC
18. do 3, 4, 5 and 16 again - now it correctly says NO under Is Solid Archive!

Please consider that the content plug-in caches information until you point to another file
It seems that it caches a little bit longer than that - even beyond the deletion of the file.

Same with others !

:) Hello Peter !

• Thanks to check that !

• Your steps are not exactly those I used, but are very similar.
- I used simply both panels in "Full view", and watched at the info-text, since I have set some custom-fields for them.
- However, I verified by setting the columns too, the problem is the same.
- Please, perform the same, but changing only the dictionary size :
- Same mess ! The just produced archive has a wrong value in the column or info-text; it displays still the previous value you changed !
- Same changing only the compression ratio :
- The wrong previous value is displayed still !
- Sometimes, if you press “Apply” and then “OK”, the value is right in the same go when the packing is done;
but sometimes, it's not…
- The value becomes true if you restart TC.

• Like you point out and I said above, this is a bit random, but here I can reproduce this in a very large average, for any single change of any setting…
• I could reproduce it totally in my oldie P1-166_MMX, under Win 98 SE - TC 6.53.
- Hence, we could say it's neither OS or TC-version related…:|

 Friendly regards,
Claude

I could not reproduce this. Has any of the tested archives a list protection?

It's the snag !

Post by *Clo »

:) Hi !
I could not reproduce this. Has any of the tested archives a list protection?
• This IS the snag ! BOTH have two passwords ( unpack and listing).
- Hence, we might not have any info for the solid archive.

- Here, there is an issue with the Listing password for Solid archives, it's ignored, but this is not the right thread to report that…

Please send me two small sample archives. Please include the unpack/list passwords.

Please post a detailed description in the appropriate thread.

I've just downloaded both versions of your content plugin from your site and they both can't be opened by Zipstar. If I open any of them in TC, an empty list is shown.

Hi,

thanks for your hint. Both installation archives are digitally signed. I will investigate what the reason for this problem is.

I have replaced the archives on the server with unsigned archives. Please report if they can be listed and unpacked properly.

Both archives are now opened, BUT before opening an error message popped up saying the archive is probably corrupted.
The strange thing is that it happened only once per archive. Now no error messages (even after cm_UnloadPlugins and TC restart).
