that's why I have to use FAR with TC :(

Post by *s2001 »

Hello,
Could you please tell me, how we can easy perform the following with TC:

1) Calculate folders space without some TC "hangs" (if there are a lot of files in folders) and with progress window (allows us to cancel calculation process)

2) Sort folders (not files) by date

Of course I may use custom columns for Q2, but I need in fastes method. Probably there are appropriate plugins?
Thanks

Sergey

1) You can press Esc at any moment - this stops the calculating process.
2) Just go to Configuration -> Display -> Sort directories -> Like files (also by time).
Flint's Homepage: Full TC Russification Package, VirtualDisk, NTFS Links, NoClose Replacer, and other stuff!

Thank you!
Will use "Like files" for dirs :)

About space calculation - probably there are some plugins which may avoid TC's hangs and display progress?

One more question, please. How we may display free/busy space (for each drive) in dialog shown by Alt+F1, Alt+F2?

DirSizeCalc is a content plugin. There is an article in our wiki about content plugins: http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/index.php/Content_plugins

I guess defining a custom column view could be a good idea for your task.
