On a NTFS-disk all filenames changed via TC become uppercase.
This happens to short (8.3) names an to lang names.

Any chance that you switched the setting:
Configuraiton->Options->Display:Show old 8.3 filenames lowercase (like explorer)
(i.e. cm_Switch83Names)

I have tested the problem with show old 8.3 filenames lowercase (like explorer) on and off.
It does not make any difference.
The problem occurs only on the NTFS-formated disk.
Funny is that sometimes(?) a move preserves lowercase names.
Create newfolder preserves lowercase names.
Renaming the directory moves name to uppercase.
Copying a subdirectory plus files under it preserves names.

Hello !
• I've two NTFS partitions here on a SATA HD under XP-Pro SP1, and I never saw such an issue !
- I've [x] Show old 8.3 filenames lowercase (like explorer) of course.
- I just tested as following :
- Create a directory named Anna
- Rename it to “Anne”
- The name is rightly displayed such as Anne, and not ANNE.
- I guess that the issue in not in TC, but rather in some Win setting.
- BTW, which OS are you using ?
Kind regards,
Claude
