Other missing translation

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Other missing translation

Post by *Vansumsen »

Commands with parameters

The parameters can't be translated and for a only_French speaker the part <what_the_parameter_must_be> means nothing, it's an annoyance.

CD <directory>
OPENTABS <filename>
APPENDTABS <filename>
FTPOPEN <conf. ftp server>
SYNCOPEN <sync operation>
LOADSEARCH <stored search>

:) Hello Paul !

• Confirmed, and it seems that there is no good workaround to fix up that currently…

Of course, we could add <what_the_parameter_must_be_translated> first in the translated string,
but doing so we'll have it twice…

• Hence, I thought that simply the original part <english_what_the_parameter_must_be> could be shifted forward the semi-colon in the basic Totalcmd.inc set in the root directory of TC… Example :
LOADSEARCH =-7; <stored search> Open stored search operation
- Written such as, the kinds of needed parameters become translatable easily.
- Same if this is hard-coded, indeed…

I'm sorry, the parameters cannot be translated, just like the commands themselves. All you can translate is the description of the command.

Couldn't you (as a workaround) translate the parameter in the description - for example:

Code: Select all

-2="Va au répertoire précisé <répertoire>"
then it would look like this in the list:

Code: Select all

CD <directory> Va au répertoire précisé <répertoire>

Not obvious

:) Hello Peter !

• Yes, it's that I said above, but we'll get it twice, anyway…
- It's not obvious to place it @ the right location in the comment in French to get a correct phrase for all.
- We'll try, though, thank you :D

Yes, it's that I said above
Not quite, you suggested to thange totalcmd.inc - I only suggest to change wcmd_fra.inc - But anyway, I agree that it is a workaround.

:) Not only, Peter :

I wrote above :
