It may help to play around a bit with the icon settings for the button bar. Try to turn off XP theming (it may not work anyway on Wine).

Hi blacky!

Configuration / Layout / "Windows XP theme backround (menu + all bars)"

Edit:
Ini setting:

Code: Select all

WantXpLook=
0: The old styles (flat, "square" 3D) will come back
1: XP Style (must be enabled in Windows)
2: Flat buttons
3: Usual buttons (This variable is unofficial)
New XP-Theme related command in TC7PublicBeta2:

Code: Select all

cm_VisXPThemeBackground

Hy Stance :)

you mean this :Image: http://blackysgate.de/files/bilder/layout.png
Screenschoot is in Mandriva Cooker 2007.1 and wine 0.9.25 from orginaly Wine on WineHQ.org

humm, i did not founds any keys in this dialog about Win XP config :\ humm...

these key's who u wrote , oky, but the normaly "Anwender" did not now it
and i think this is the Problem..
if i look the Icons from the Drives, they be show correcktly*s* fully correcktly ;)
and why not, if set the key.. "hacken" on this config-dialog if is not MS-Win,
use the grafic-engine who use the drive-icons..
it shold a enabling config-dialog if it's Linux-compatiebility.. uff.. or not and the 2nd if it's
run in wine or not.. later if it's wine more evolution in 2-4 jears ago, can.. i think make in
one or other things, more or other as in win32 from M$, so why not make there a start in
config-dialog.. or.. why dont make a extra-linux/wine Config-diaolog who can use in
Reactos later too.. as Compatibility-Diaolog if is use in Wine or in M$ ...
(i have see the entry Linuxcompatibility ;) nice *s* and the Username is
on the Win-Panel.. good work Chris !)

regards
Blacky

Hi blacky :)
For me it seems to be a feature, not a bug:
TC don't show this option, when it is not available in Linux/Wine!

I assume, that something has changed with StickyNomads icons in the version 7Beta2 of the iconsets.
In the thread: New Application Icon was often mentioned: "alpha transparency".
I don't know much about this nor the Linux/wine capability for "alpha transparency".

As a workaround you could try to convert the new iconsets in wine.
There are ICL-Plugins for Total Commander, maybe your installed IrfanView or the Gimp (Plugins?) :)
A second workaround: Use the functional Icons from v 6.55.

Please find a suitable thread to ask StickyNomad for details or use Google for "alpha transparency" in wine.

Kind regards
Stance

I wonder whether it works when you recreate the button bar: Please choose Configuration - Button bar - OK.

I get the same problem with the "black background icons" with Ubuntu 6.06 and Wine 0.9.9, I tried all the suggestions but without success the only workaround I found was to delete default.br2 and to retrieve write access (chmod 555) to the folder where default.br2 is created by default, This way icons are fine.

I also noticed that IconsInMenus settings is not working with Wine (although I put the entry in wincmd.ini). Furthermore icon (+ or -) that should be displayed when using drag and drop is not displaying correctly.

So apparently it's only a caching problem, not a problem with displaying the icons.

Please send me your default.bar and default.br2 with these problems by e-mail, so I can analyze whether the problem occurs when storing the icons or when loading them.
