I just tied to unpack a multi-volume RAR archive containing one file by selecting the first volume and using "cm_UnpackFiles".
As a result I just got an empty folder with the same name as the containg file (eg some_file.avi).
Updating the Unrar.dll to 3.9b didn't help. The RAR file uses the old naming scheme if it matters.
Unpacking from within the archive works fine.

Just did a clean install of PB2. The bug still occurs.
Details of the Archive:
Version: 2.0
Method: m0:22 - Stored
Host OS: Unix
Not solid
Not encrypted
Just tried the following:
Hexedited the fileheader Host_OS byte from 0x03 (Unix) to 0x02 (Win) and WinRar suddenly also interprets the file as a folder (besides complaining about the crc error). So I guess TC misinterprets the Unix file attributes as Windows attributes.

That's the problem: TC 7.5 beta 1+2 have troubles unpacking such files because it misinterprets the attributes. This will be fixed in public beta 3.Host OS: Unix

Re: Unpacking RAR file results in empty folder with content
repair winrar archive one of the best effective ways for working out given trouble. The utility uses copies of corrupted data and doesn't modify source of info. It uses contemporary methods of recovering rar data. Opening corrupted .rar archives form any location such as other PCs, hard drives.ZoSTeR wrote:I just tied to unpack a multi-volume RAR archive containing one file by selecting the first volume and using "cm_UnpackFiles".
