[TC75b5] double-click isn't registered quick enough

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[TC75b5] double-click isn't registered quick enough

Post by *fm-xvid »

i don't why but a double-click doesn't open a folder or launch a file. instead it behaves as though i had clicked single click twice like when renaming a file/folder.

i'm using logitech mouse mx518 and for the record the double-click works normally outside TC. can someone help me with this?

:) Hello !

• You could check also Options >> Configuration >> Operation :
[?] Open files and directories with a single click. To use a double-click, it must be unticked.
- The corresponding INI entry allows to enhance that option, please have a look HERE (scroll to SingleClickStart=…).

Was it changed in 7.5b5 to where the folders are opened on a single-click by default?
chmod a+x /bin/laden -- Allows anyone the permission to execute /bin/laden

:) Hello Bob,

• AFAIK, the default wasn't changed, but I just ask to check that option in the case it was changed accidentally
and silently @ fm-xvid's, i.e. from a finger slip on the keys when this option page is opened… ;)
- This idea is based on that he tells :
…and for the record the double-click works normally outside TC …

2Clo,

It seems if I set SingleClickStart=0, then I get some weird mouse happenings. It will sometimes open folders with just one click. Right now I have it set at SingleClickStart=4 and the folders seems to be behaving themselves now. I noticed it acting up in beta 5.

I set it back to SingleClickStart=0 and will watch it for a few days and see if it straightens itself out.

Works OK

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello Peter !

• I tested with SingleClickStart=0 now with many items (dirs, archives…), it works OK…
- But still, I've a ticklish mouse Logitech “Value Optical” (Plug&Play - my foot ! I had to install a new driver hard to find !).

• I switched again to SingleClickStart=6 that's my normal setting, no problem.

thanks for the replies. i'll try to answer all in this post..

no, i don't use Logitech drivers. i removed them and use only vanilla Windows drivers.

2Clo

i've checked in the options but the 'single click to open files/folders' option is unticked and the corresponding INI entry is zero (SingleClickStart=0). now it really baffles me..

anyway, thanks for the link. i've set 'SingleClickStart' to 6 and using single-click for folders. quite fast too. for files, i now double-click on the icon in the listbox to open them.

Install the CHM ?

Post by *Clo »

2fm-xvid

:) Again…

• The link works to me, there is another server, but it's the same host (probably pop-ups issues for you),
so you could download the CHM version of that Tuto, just click the link in my signature below…
- That entry is also in the Help >> wincmd.ini
