7.5pb7: Minimal new directory bug

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

7.5pb7: Minimal new directory bug

Post by *wayfinder »

Create a new directory with a name that ends in a dot ("."); the dir will be created just fine, but the cursor will not jump to the newly created directory.

What filesystem/OS are you using?

AFAIK it is not possible to make a directory that ends in a dot under Windows using TC.

I can do it on a Unix FTP server though - and here I can also move the cursor to the directory.

Under Windows
When you create a directory like [TOTO], TC create and jump to the new directory.

If you create a directory like [TITI.], TC create [TITI] without the Dot and stay in the current position.
I think in this case, TC try to find [TITI.] and TC don't find it. So TC stay in the current position.

This is a known limitation which will not be changed. Some file systems like EXT2/3 on Linux actually seem to support dots at the end, I just tested it over FTP.
