I see. Well, as I described above, TC simply disappears to the bottom of the Z order, and the next application in the Z order gets the focus. But I will double check it.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

yeah, total commander goes to SECOND place in z order (not bottom), and the next program that WAS under it becomes the TOP one in z order

this is definitely still happening, i believe only on my ati laptop, and not on my nvidia desktop..

is there any hardware or driver info that might help find the cause? no other application does this

One user has reported a similar problem when using WindowBlinds with special themes which use a so-called glass
on skins effect. He is experiencing the following problems:
- when TC starts, the splash screen appears, but when it disappears, TC doesn't get focus
- when using quick search, letters with search dialog, then the focus isn't given back to TC when the dialog closes.

I solved this by explicitly setting the focus to the current file list when closing these dialogs.

Maybe the copying problem is related?

Do you use WindowBlinds or some other skinning tool?

Hi, just tried 6.54 beta 2 - focus problem occurs all the time for me and I'm using WindowBlinds5 with the iFlex skin.

I notice it ALL the time when dragging a file from one pane to the other to copy - when the Overwrite dialog appears, clicking Overwrite or Cancel or anything loses my focus on the main TC window :(

Appreciate if you are able to resolve any of this in beta 3 :)

Thanks

Fedorov.

I didn't change anything in beta 2 regarding this problem. Can you confirm that there is a problem with the quick search dialog (TC using focus when it closes) in public beta 1, but not in public beta 2? If yes, then I will try to use this fix also for the copy dialog.

I've not got or tried PB1 only your new PB2.

I've just tried the QuickSearch box on PB2, when I hit Esc to remove it TC STILL has focus.

If you can get me a d/l link for PB1 and if you say it's okay for me to install it over the top of PB2 I can try it for you no problem. :)

Thanks Hacker.

Pressing ESC to close the QuickSearch box brings TC back into focus fine on PB1 and PB2 with Windowblinds5 for me.

Overwrite dialog that causes me the problems.

Thanks

Hi Guys&Girls ;)

I have the same issues with TCMD losing it's focus. For me it happens when I get the Overwrite dialog, no matter what option I choose in that dialog. Quick search is working fine.

I'm using 6.53 and have Windowblinds 5 running. When I tell Windowblinds to skip TCMD from skinning all problems are solved.

Seems to be only happening when you select a skin that uses transparant features.

Hope it helps.

ps. just tested Beta2 and same issues are there.

Tested some more and it seems to happen everytime TCMD opens a second dialog.

It also happened on dialogs:
1) You cannot copy a file to itself!
2) Dialog you get when you try to delete a protected file.

Has Public Beta 3 had any improvements made to the focus for windowblinds5 users please?

Thanks.

You are kidding, right? You are asking questions of which you already know the answer just to bump a thread? Thanks for wasting my time. *plonk*

Hey I apologise, I'm a developer myself and not every little change makes it into a changelog you know :)

Seeing a new beta out I was kinda hoping that Ghisler had put some more focus tweaks in. ;)
