It seems that if I run the 32-bit version under Win7x64 the plugin uses the 7-zip files in the "64" folder and not the ones in the main plugin folder.

To test it - I delete the "64" folder and then try using the plugin - then I get this message:
7-zip GUI is not found.
C:\WC\PLUGINS\WCX\Total7zip\64/7zG.exe
Download 7-Zip
http://www.7-Zip.org/
I don't have the same problem under Win XP 32-bit - here I can delete the "64" folder, without having any problems.

Using Total7zip 0.8.5.4

NOTE: I don't have 7-zip installed on my 64-bit computer - only the files that comes with the plugin.

I'm confused, wcx_Total7zip_0854.rar from totalcmd.net includes 64\7zip.dll but no other 7zip.dll - isn't a 32-bit dll included? Should I download 32-bit 7zip elsewhere? (7zip isn't installed on my PC and I don't want to make a permanent install.) Thanks.

Hmm. - I see a 7z.dll in both the root of wcx_Total7zip_0854.rar and in the 64 subfolder - but no 7zip.dll - are you sure you don't mean 7z.dll and not 7zip.dll ?

In the Settings Dialog of Total7z, i can select multiple preselections for Splitting. Is it possible to add or change this preselections (dropdown field)?

You can enter any value into that field, no need to change the preselections.

Yes, i know, i can enter my own values in to the field, but i do pack most of the times to the same values. So it would be great, to select this often used values from the dropdown, instead of typing it every time. Maybe this can be configured via the xml file in later versions?

Encryption not working

Post by *vsemken »

I'm using the latest published version 0.8.5.6 of Total7Zip. I want to encrypt or protect the content with a password.
My problem is, that this seems to be broken. If I enter a password, there is no query even on an other system when I decompress the file again. Also if I select to encrypt the file names I can open the 7zip file and see the files without any pasword prompt, even if one has been set.
I'm using Total Commander 8.0.1 and also tested with 7.56 with the same result.
I like the plugin, but this renders it almost useless for me. Please advice or fix this.

You need to select encrypt in the pack dialog or use the other 7z plugin
here's an example
