Locked tabs problem

Post by *Frostikkel »

Hi,

In my left and right panel, I have 2 tabs each. Those two tabs are both locked. The first one refers to C:\users\xxxx\desktop, the second one refers to E:\00. Downloads.
If I close TC and restart it, the tabs refering to the download-folder are no longing refering to "E:\00. Downloads" but to "E:\" (in both tabs).

When I remove the wincmd.ini and let TC create a new one at startup, there are no problems.
So my guess is, that in the past years, a certain update did screw up my wincmd.ini.

However, I don't see where...

Unfortunately it's currently impossible to keep a locked tab when the source becomes unavailable. Try using "Locked but directory changes allowed" instead.

Hi Ghisler,

The E-Drive is a fixed disk in my computer.
In my previous post I wrote that it shows the root of the drive (E: ) but that was not correct. It shows the root of the C: instead.

If I mark the "Locked but directory changes allowed", the name of the tab remains, but it's showing the content of my C:

Yes, but you can use the history to return to the inaccessible folder when you can again access it.

The E-Drive is a fixed disk in my computer.
use the history to return to the inaccessible folder when you can again access it

I don't see a reason then why the folder should be inaccessible. What is the reason preventing TC from accessing it?

I don't know, but I have experienced it once myself when testing it - that TC doesn't show the previously saved directory (fixed drive) in a tab, but showed the root instead - but I have not been able to reproduce it.
