File Selection Bug [totalcmd 8.0 x64]

Post by *TTux »

This bug seems to only persist in total commander 8 x64 version.

Reproduce:
Pick a directory with a few files. Now click a file with your mouse (must be clicked with mouse) and hold down Shift + End to select all files in the directory.

Notice the status bar mentions 0 / x number of files selected. When pressing up or down arrows on the keyboard, it updates this value .

It seems to only be affected with using the End and Home key. PgUp, PgDn seem to work. It also seems to happen 50/50 when there is a scrollbar involved.

Edit: upon further testing it does seem that the 'Home' key is also effected

I can reproduce it in TC8.01 rc1 x64 with the following steps:

1. Make sure you have NC-style mouse enabled
2. Open a folder with a few files
3. Left click on the first file
4. Press Shift+End to select all files
5. Unselect all files with mouse (right click on the first file and drag the cursor down)
6. Left click on the first file
7. Press Shift+End to select all files

After the step #7, the status bar is not updated.

I confirm the bug with left-button selection.

I can confirm the bug the way umbra describes it.

In step #5 I can also press Shift+End to deselect the files, or use Num- or Ctrl+Num- to deselet the files. If I left click on the first file and press Shift+End, the files gets deselected, but the status line still shows that all files are selected.

If I in step #6 use the up arrow to go to the first file, the bug does not express itself. But if I use cm_GoToFirstFile to go to the first file, the bug also occurs. So it is not just mouse-selection of the first file that does it
