TC 8.52b1 (and older) History broken after FTP

Post by *petermad »

If I am in a network folder (\\computername\foldername\) when I start an FTP session in the panels, then when I disconnect the FTP connection (by button or by Ctrl+Shift+F) I don't return to the network folder as expected, but I am taken back to the first local folder before the network folder in the history.

If I go back from the FTP-session using Alt+leftArrow it works OK. Also if the Network folder is mapped to a drive letter it works OK when disconnecting FTP.

Applies to both 32bit and 64bit TC Win XP, 7, 8.1 and 10

This is actually by design, to avoid that TC hangs when the TC loses all network connections (e.g. network cable pulled).

Hmm - And what if I am in a network folder when the collection is lost - won't that hang TC ?

You should get a dialog box after a few seconds when the folder cannot be read (currently only on \\server\share and subdirs, in TC 9 also in \\server).
