TortoiseCVS and TC (from Deutsch forum)

Post by *bago »

I've seen a topic in the German forum about TortoiseCVS and Icons in TC  .

I'm interested in this topic, too, but I don't understand a word of German

Can someone, please, translate the "core" of the topic and what Christian replied :?: :?:

Danke!

The 'core' of Christians answer is, that it's not possible to support different colours for files from cvs within Total Commander.

Christan writes, that there's a comment in the source code of TortoiseCVS that describes crashes of other applications than Explorer while using this feature.

This is a pity: the only reason I have to open Explorer is for checking TortoiseCVS icons :( ! It would have been cool to view them in TC!

Hi Bago,

I find it a pity, too.

As Christian states, displaying of these icons isn't possible, but using these
context menus, (I've tried), is obviously no problem.

It would be cool, to use the "find files", search for a string in *.cpp and *.h
and then edit all files in one stroke.

BTW: "find files" would be much more efficient (at least for me),
to have displayed all columns as it does windows file find (time, extension, attributes, size).
And then, of course, sort them like the files in the two main panes.
("Agent Ransack" is very good, you can even use regular expressions).

I hate to use explorer, but sometimes it has to be :(

Regards,

Francesco

@Bago: same for me: the only thing i need explorer for is tortoisesvn/cvs.

there was a (short) discussion here: http://www.cvsnt.org/pipermail/cvsnt/2003-November/009251.html saying it is possible to use iconoverlay.

i'd love to see that feature, too
