Yes, of course, that's what I mean!Do you mean a secure eraser which writes "0"s then "1"s on the HD n… times ?
- I think that our Dear Author is not right (like the Kings said in France when they were wrong!). Just my own opinion, indeed…But as stated in this thread, ghisler(Author) is strictly against such a feature.
Ahemmm, unfortunately there is no M$ API for "secure" erase. Therefore this would be a big challenge because a "secure" eraser has nothing to do with file managment. "Secure" eraser is more a task force for a disk manager. (BTW: I cannot see any example of use for "secure" file erasing.)I think that our Dear Author is not right
Not here, sorry.• Strange : displays a FTP-Send dialogue when you D&D a file
Don't understand that.• Worse : displays a FTP error-message when you move a file onto the location of the file to erase via D&D+Shift…
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/wipe.html- I couln't find Wipe WCX (neither on totalcmd.net nor on the TC-site)
I don't use it myself, I just mentioned it because of sas2000. Anyway, I don't think it's unhandy- Such a plugin - even debugged - doesn't erase a file directly "on the spot" in the file-list where it's selected… Not handy.
This has all been discussed in the above mentioned thread but because ghisler hasn't read the whole thread and obviously has no desires to talk about stuff he himself has no use for, he had no clue what to answer, so he answered that it's no good idea, like usual.- I would prefer something similar to the partnership Lister / XnView/IrfanView/UniView.
- I mean : in the Copy / Delete dialog, to get means in order to choose an eraser partner-program, and an option to use it via an internal command and a standard or customized shortcut for the Keyboard Knights
Not here, sorry.
- Sorry, I forgot to mention that I tested under Win 98 SE, where the behaviour is quite like I describe…Don't understand that.
This is nonsens. Maybe it would be a good idea you wouldn't post a link like SDelete only. It would be wise if you read this linked text carefully before too.All needed APIs are documented in file management section on MSDN, no disk management is needed here.
