[TC11.00b6] Configuration-History Custom font name problem

Post by *sky66 »

[TC11.00b6] Configuration - Options... - History - Font - Custom...
If select a font name with a Unicode name, then press ok.
The selected font Name becomes garbled in the dialog box.

Although it does not affect the display of the folder history list.
But another font option, the display is OK after selecting a font name containing Unicode.
(Configuration - Options... - Font - Main window font)

Thanks for your report. Where can I find a font with a Unicode name?
I tried changing the language for Non-Unicode programs to Korean or Chinese, with or without Unicode checked.
However, all Asian fonts still appear with their English names, e.g. SimSun font.

You can try to use mingliu.ttc, a very old Windows Chinese font, which may be found in the Windows\Fonts directory.

But maybe, as you mentioned, these fonts will only display the English font names under non-Chinese windows systems, and will not display the original Chinese names.

You can try to use mingliu.ttc
On my Window 7 system (Danish) I have mingliu.ttc and mingliub.ttc - on my Windows 10 system (Danish) I only have mingliub.ttc - but on none of the systems the MingLiU font is listed in the font picker that TC uses.

Windows 10 (German) is the same, but I cant pick that font in WordPad, PSP or TC?

I had to install an Asian language pack on Windows 10 and then change the user interface language to this to view the names with their native names. This way I was able to reproduce it. It only seems to affect the 64-bit version. It will be fixed in beta 7.

Thanks for the update, 11.00b7 font names are displayed well, and the "custom" function has also been improved, the program will remember the last used font and size.
