AceHelper TCP Plugin (64-bit version needed)

Post by *Pawel »

There is a plugin for Total Commander called AceHelper 0.3.7.
Author: Botace (Alexey U. Smirnov)

This plugin Displays information about processes. The plugin is only 32-bit!
Have you got any contact with author? Could anyone compile it to 64-bit?

Or, do you know similar plugin for Total Commander (32/64bit) that can show all information about running processes (like AceHelper).

That's also 32-bit only.

I use https://totalcmd.net/plugring/procView.html in TC 64-bit.

Thanks, but that plugin is described as 32-bit only too.

This one works fine. AceHelper is much more advanced.

Thank you!

You are right.

I have a version 3.0 in my collection, that is both 32bit and 64 bit: https://tcmd.madsenworld.dk/plugins/diskinternals_procfs.zip - I didn't notice that it is only version 2.0 that is available at totalcme.net.

Thanks , that must be where I got it from.

Yes, thanks (it is even available to download in 2 different links (DiskInternals Reader (site) | PROC 3.0).

Plugin works fine, but this is not what I am looking for (shows only processes and its windows)... AceHelper is much better (shows much more advanced information).
Thanks.

What is the benefit to have process information inside of TC ?
I use the MiTeC Task Manager DeLuxe which gives all sort of detailed information
about the whole system and running processes, including a PE viewer.

Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3527)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1373a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.3, Listary Pro 6.3.0.73
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

The same benefit as from other plugins that provide information. I have been an active user of AceHelper for many years and its use makes my work much easier compared to third-party task managers.
Firstly, I can quickly search or filter the list of processes in the TC panel.
Secondly, I can see a numbered list of processes of the same name to go to the right one.
Thirdly, I can highlight (the last 5 minutes, for example) and sort the processes by the date they occurred.
After pressing Enter on the desired process, I almost instantly receive detailed information, I can terminate or kill the process, freeze/unfreeze/kill any thread, monitor network activity and five graphs simultaneously, see a list of controls and window components with handles, manage them through a child dialog with details, view interconnected registry branches, evaluate interaction with connected modules.
After that, I immediately close the window by Esc and move on to other actions in TC.
The only negative is the "Command line:" field, which often doesn't display the necessary information. Otherwise, the plugin is extremely useful.

I'm impressed, but most of this and more is part of the MiTeC Task Manager.

It can't do the most important thing I gave at the beginning is the interaction with the list within the TC panel, as well as the speed of opening and displaying information. These are the key things.
In addition, MiTeC DeLuxe, unlike the same Process Explorer/Hacker, is paid.

It's free for personal use :D

It's clear, although this is not so important in comparison with the rest. I just remember that the author remade many of his previously free things for commerce. The (Order Now) button was confusing.
I used to test the program. It has a nice and rich interface, but an individual approach through the list in TC itself is more useful, shorter in the number of manipulations and the speed of data output. This is much more necessary against the oversaturation of components/controls/dialogues.
