Sorry for the offtopic:

Is the explorer.exe process (in Task Manager) connected to that My computer file browsing?

Also to the file browsing in programs, when you open a file?

What will happen if I end that 'explorer.exe' process?
I couldn't find a straight answer to this.

Just close all programs you are running (thus no data loss will occur) and then open the Task manager and kill the 'explorer.exe' process.

You will see that the Taskbar includign the start-buton (when you want to close Windows press the start button ;) ) will disappear as well as all icons on your desktop etc.

You could restart your PC with the 'shutdown' option in the Menubar of the Task manager.
