So my question still is weather or not this 6.54 beta2 that is floating around is an official release or not. And if so, where can we get a hold of an official copy and will that work with the existing keyfile, etc, etc, etc. I can wait util the next official release, just wondered why all of a sudden this beta2 popped up.

It is no official release. I will probably never happen that a Beta of TC will released official.

And when there is a release you will see it on this board in the 'Announcements' on top of the site like this.

IIRC there was an official release of a beta some time ago.

6.54 beta, however, is leaked and not official.

Thanks sheep, just did not understand why there was no official news about it on this site, where I would expect to hear about it first. I guess I'll just wait till the powers that be come up with the official stuff from here, stay away from all the other crap that's floating around, god knows what they built into it that we don't know about?

Because the release is NOT OFFICIAL but LEAKED, this has been mentioned several times in this thread.

I have also told you that the first OFFICIAL news you get on BETANEWS.COM, this is to not stress the official servers, afterwards you see the news in this forum.

If you register to the TC newsletter you have a chance to get the news also very early but the last "newsletters" announcing the official release arrived three days after release so in fact this thing is maybe a letter but has nothing to do with any news for most of the subscribers.

You can also use the RSS feed to catch the news if you use one that offers keyword filtering. Set it to "6.54" and it will work.

Well, the news that there will be a 6.54 is relatively new, so at that time everybody thought there won't be a version before 7.0.
