Email command in new 7.0 version

Post by *stragr »

Hi to everybody and specially to developers,
Now that the version 7 is in beta stage, i want to ask if you can put an internal command , so the choosen files can be send with one click by email, using the default email program , such as Outlook express?
If this is difficult now, can anybody make a plugin such like this?
There is a plugin , but the mail is not be stored in the default email program.

Thnak you for listening.

You can already do that. Just use the Right Mouse Button to open the context menu and select the "Send to" item.

Yes, you can make a command (usercmd.ini), i.e. em_mailfile and tie that to your mail app with selected file ("%P" isn't it?) as parameter, obviously depending on what the parameters for you mail app is! Then make a shortcut within TC for the command, and you're good to go. Just check the help file for details

It can be done with the help of lst2str.

Code: Select all

[em_sendmail]
button=%COMMANDER_PATH%\Plugins\Blat\blat.exe
cmd=%COMMANDER_PATH%\Tools\lst2str\lst2str.exe
param=/X:"C:\Programme\wincmd\Plugins\Blat\blat.exe" /L:%L
TC plugins: Autodesk 3ds Max / Inventor / Revit Preview, FileInDir, ImageMetaData (JPG Comment/EXIF/IPTC/XMP), MATLAB MAT-file Viewer, Mover, SetFolderDate, Solid Edge Preview, Zip2Zero and more

Tbeu,
This works, but where is the message that i sent? I have no back up, for example in outlook express folder. That is the only problem.
Can't we use the default mail programm so to keep back up of the sending emails and use also the address book?

You can use your default mail program if you get rid of that Outlook Express crap! Professional email programs support sending attachments by command line.

If you would switch to The Bat! for example, it was no problem at all to send attachments by pressing a button.

Maybe Thunderbird supports that too, which is free. I would have to wonder if it would not.

I am not exactly sure if your posting is meant ironically...
If changing your mail client is not an option for you, you have to live with the limitations of Outlook Express. This is not an offense but the simple truth, sorry.

Of course, you can also use AHK to script the actions:
1. Press right mouse button
2. Goto Send entry
3. Press email

No, No my friend ironically.
I really mean this , because i have lost more than one month looking for something to do this. My job has to do with many many pictures , with jewellery. So i am using very much the TCMD and i wanted with a simple click , on the bar to do the same as "richt click --> send --> email".
That is what i was looking for.

But it is better to stop because the outlook cannot do it.

Hi,
anyone have been able to implement a similar command using Eudora? Apparently is doesn't support a complete commandline, only MAPI interface (or the Drag&Drop) so I was wondering how to directly use the MAPI interface, like what happens when you use the "Send To" explorer command..
?!?

:) Hello !

• I don't know if this could help, but I can say you that "Send by email" works fine in XnView 1.82.4 with Eudora to send images - even several as one go - (while it doesn't with some Outlook versions)…
- I use Eudora for ever, currently the “7” version.

:mrgreen: Kind regards,
Claude
