Suggestion for betas: do not supply installation file...
Christian, i'd like to suggest to supply the betas in a plain zip file instead of an installation executable. I installed both betas in different directories than 6.55 and now every time i try to install another version, the default installation path points to the last beta installation. Ok, i restored it to the default folder (in registry, My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander\InstallDir) but why should this be done every time a beta is installed?

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Why didn't you just press Ctrl+PgDn on the installer to open it as any other zip-file?i'd like to suggest to supply the betas in a plain zip file

You can open the installer with Ctrl+PageDown, it's a simple self-extracting zip file containing a cab file with all the files. An older version of TC can open and extract them.

Yeah, ok, it's a solution. It's just that when i see a file, i tend to press Enter on it without second thought. Now, zips just "open" but EXEs tend to run...
