1. Create directory (e.g. xy)
2. Rename directory (e.g. xyz)
3. Try to create a file using Shift+F4, give it the name of that directory (xyz)
4. The warning isn't shown (this is the problem), the file isn't created (of course) and Notepad is complaining: "Access is denied" (again as expected).
After you refresh the panel (Ctrl+R) trying to create a file shows the warning (as it should).
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this 100%. It only seems to happen on my big partition (I have two: 1-SYSTEM (10GB), 2-DATA (140GB)).
Using Windows XP Professional SP2 fully patched.
Directory already exists doesn't always appear
