Useful Feature!

it would be nice to have in TC sopport for NTFS links (it's like Linux's semi-links). they are widely used Vista.
P.S. i tryed to download TC 7 beta, but no succes so if it has such feature sorry and ur welcome to delete my thread!

TC7 Beta 3 will support them better: If the user doesn't have the right to open the link as a directory, but is allowed to read the link target, then TC7 beta 3 will switch to that target directory.

Did you figure out how Explorer filters the view so that these useless directories are not displayed? Currently this is one of things that really annoys me when using TC on Vista.

No, unfortunately not.

How about to create a customizeble list of files and folders that will be not shown in TC filelist. So that user can add/remove there folders and files that he do not want to see (like Recyclebin, System Volume Information, pagefile.sys ond so on). i think that microsoft did the same in explorer.

The ignore list was introduced with TC7. Did you retry the download after a while? Maybe it was just a temporarily problem.

Thank you! This information should be very helpful. I guess Explorer just follows the described rules. Something like that should be implemented in TC. Maybe a special ignore list entry that make them disappear.

Besides i don't quite get MS intention for this whole thing. At frist glance it seems as if they wanted to shorten the path names and get rid of the spaces in them.
On the other hand they keep "Program Files" instead of calling them "Programs" and add some spaces in other pathes.

Another strange thing:
The german Vista shows "Benutzer" instead of "Users" in the Explorer but they don't seem to use a junction for this one. Neither CMD nor TC show a folder or link called "Benutzer".

I did scroll there, but it didn't tell me what junction points should be shown, and what not. Anyway, I now found a solution to follow these junction points even if I don't have read or traverse rights! It will be in TC7 beta 3. I will not hide any of them, because I want to show the user what is on disk.
