Error copying with same name diretorys and files
In root directory:
Case 1:
- Make a directory named "test" and save.
- Make a new txt file (shift+F4) named "test.txt"
- Copy to same panel (shift+F5) "test.txt" to "text" without extension
The file is copied to the directory "C:\test\", no in the same root directory with the new name.
Case 2:
- Make a text file named "test2" and save.
- Now, make a directory with the name "test2"
The directoy can't be created: Error: Directory [test2] not created!
Case 3
- Make a directory named "test3"
- Go to inside test3
- make a text file named text3 (without extension)
- Copy c:\test3\test3 to c:\
This warning appear: you cannot copy a file to itself!
In the text entry box if the target is changed to c:\ a different error appear: Error: Cannot write c:\test3! Please remove the write protection!
Tested with WinXP SP2 + TC 7pb2

In principle a directory is also a file - that's why you can't make a directory and a file with the same name.
As karlchen writes - it has been that since early DOS - if not even longer.

karlchen,
Well, because it was in TC7 beta bug reports. So I guess better it's here. The English forum might also have been nice, but I guess it's ok here as well.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
