Feature request

Post by *editor1955 »

I have a feature request. If possible, I would like to have the option of hiding or showing the menu bar, just as we can now hide or show the toolbar. I realize that in full screen mode the menu bar disappears, but I would like the flexibility of gaining screen space by hiding the menu bar while at the same time being able to resize the window. Thanks for considering this request. Universal Viewer is a great program that I use almost every day!

Thanks very much! :)

One further thought. I use an Internet browser that allows me to toggle the menu bar into and out of view. It uses CTRL+F11 to accomplish this.

Met nice guys from Serbia, Belgrade. They develop Stylet File Manager, http://www.stylet-software.com/ -- now it has built-in File Viewer window based on ATViewer.

Looks nice. Though this file manager is in beta stage yet...

- Little optimization of startup time: Image and RTF controls are created on demand, not at startup.
What is still slow at startup: Ini file reading (cannot optimize), menu creation (cannot optimize), toolbar creation (can load on demand, so turning it off will speedup a little).

- Options "Show menu"

Thanks :!: :!: :!:

Btw, option to hide menu is great, but if i need to show it for a moment  , i have to reconfigure ATViewer, maybe you may consider to add a shortcut for "Show/Hide menu".
Best regards. Sas.

No problem. :)
It was easy.

Well...

Then we'll need options "Show border" and "Show toolbar" in menu also. Since they are doing similar "things"...

Also you may say that IrfanView has this option in the menu, but I think that IrfanView's menu is overbloated by options and commands.

Maybe later, when the option "Show file browser pane" will be ready (it will be in menu of course), I'll add this to menu too... It will be in version 1.6. Together with text cursor option.

Nice :D.

Another idea might be to create a "copy" of the menu on the context menu, this way users will have access to menu even on full screen mode or using ATViewer with ShowMenu=0 .

If you don't want to overbloat context menu, then ATViewer may activate this option automatically only if user use full screen mode or ShowMenu=0.

Thx :!: .

Interesting idea!
What Windows programs use such "menu in context menu", can you give example?

A Russian one :) View64 (491Kb)

"menu in context menu" is hidden by default, but it'll be automatically activated by View64 when you hide menu ("Window --> Show Menu" or Ctrl+Shift+M) or in full screen mode.
