Good morning !
…TC 7 instead stores the individual icons inside the default.br2 file. …
• A bit aside, one could think that the *.br2 files now are something
similar to a multi-page file like *.TIFF (Rev. 6),
or a multi-page *.ico ?
- I noticed that the *.br2 files are much smaller than the former *.br1 ones, so I thought they are a bit “packed”…
- In example, I've a 35-icon bar#1 (24² - 24 BPP) which has a br2 file =
48,091 bytes, while each icon is 1,886 bytes, and indeed the file has a structure (I suppose).
All icons "as is" are
66,010 bytes.
- Like you know, I'm very interested in icons, buttons and so still because I'm bound to use this way…
- So, since TC 7 is able to create multipage-like *.br2 files, it should be great to use also TIFF as "icon libraries", they are pretty easy to create.
- TIFF supports ZIP and other packing algos - but there, ZIP is the best as far as I saw- .
- Incidentally, it should be nice to be able to view the *.br2 file in an image viewer, i.e. to check if it's not damaged when some issue like the topic of that thread occurs…
