Search also in 7z files

Post by *Michel32 »

Is it a idea to improve the search a little ?

It will be cool that TC can search also in 7z files now it can search only in rar, zip, arj, lzh, tar,gz and cab files, my opinium is dat 7z have a better compression but I don't pack it in 7z becourse tc can't search in it.

It will be realy a improver since more people using 7z pack methodes.

Hello!
Look in the help (4b) or use the search of this forum. ;)

You can activate the option for search inside 7zip files with the parameter SearchInFiles=*.7z under section [Configuration] in the wincmd.ini.

Did you restart TC?
Did you enable "Search in Archives"?

I have no problems here.

"7z" is too short. ;)
But "7zip" or "search in archives" does the trick.

TC 7bp3. In 6.55 it worked also.

Here TC7b3 searches into 7z archives by default, with no additional settings in wincmd.ini. Maybe you use an outdated 7z plugin.

edit: ahh OK :D
TC for Linux please!
