Thanks a lot for the secure-ftp feature in the new TC version.
Could you add an option to the ftp connection parameters which allows one to choose whether:
1) both authentication and data transfer go via secure protocol,
or
2) only authentication is secure, while the data transfer is performed in the usual, non-encrypted mode.
This could be a useful option, because a number of people don't actually need secure data transfer; it's only their username/password that they need to protect.

I will consider that. Currently TC uses data connection encryption if the server supports it, and falls back to unencrypted if it's not supported.
Btw, secure-ftp is overkill if you just want to protect your password. Total Commander supports OTP-MD5 and OTP-SHA1 for this purpose already for normal ftp transfers. Of course, the server has to support it too...
