File size display format? Please!
Hello TC folks,
I feel this is five seconds issue for someone who knows it.
I installed the TC PowerPack and everything looks great, but the file size is displayed as 18K instead of 18,329 bytes (just an example)
What is the way to change this, please!
Thanks,
Istok, Belgrade

LOL
I'm not a blonde, but I use it. I don't think that seeing gigabytes in bytes is comfortable. How big is 10028215300 bytes?
Dividing by 1024 in decimal system i not a thing I like.
And what a waste of screen-space! I have always no more than 7 characters.
To use it and lose nothing, you jut need to know that Alt+Enter gives you the exact file size.

Hi !
• This is wrong, GB is DECIMAL, and you too by the same way…
- Only the media makers (HD, mem-sticks) play with that…

Me? Wrong, I'm working in with both systems. And also some others, which don't even use numbers.Clo wrote:2m^2

Actually I definitely agree that using kilo (etc.) as 1000 or 1024 depending on where is a very bad thing.
1000 in IT has many disadvantages... decimal is not natural here (although some people don't think so and ie. use arrays of 260 elements

And finally - having 2 similar (actually this similarity is not so big with giga..and even smaller later) units is also bad.
I think that the last option is the best one.
But calling the prefix "kibi" is a drunk idea. It sounds so stupid! So unserious! No, I'm definitely not going this way.
If this option won, I'd stay with my good friends, greek prefixes. The binary ones. And like Cato the Elder, I'd be saying "Moreover, I advise that "kibi" should be forgotten."

No comment but please read :
