I can really recommend TCPP and some similar packages to every new user.
1. It's more explorer, less NC - like. Almost everybody who was using NC a lot knows TC. So there are hardly newcomers who are used to NC style.
2. Many people don't know what can be done to make TC more personalized. Many don't know that there are useful plugins. (Which I find one of the strongest points of TC).
