There seems to be a small glitch with that feature.
Try this: move the splitter to the side somewhere. Then double-click it to move it back to the center.
Now, click on it while keeping the CTRL key pressed. This snaps the splitter to 25%, 50% and 75% positions. Let it snap to the 50% position and observe closely: The splitter moves a few pixels to the right.
It seems to depend on where you double-click within the splitter-bar (right or left). It is hard to see because the splitter is so narrow, though.
Double click on splitter to set it to 50/50%

But at the end it lands at 50% right? I think it happens because a single click is sent before the doubleclick, so it positions the splitter first as a result of a "drag" (mouse down not exactly in the center and release acts as if you have dragged the splitter), and then it processes the double click.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!
It actually seems to produce different results. Try first to Double-click the divider, and after that Ctrl-click it - the divider is permanently moved a little to the right. Double-click places the divider in the same place as cm_50Percent does.
Saving the position obtained by Ctrl-click saves it to the same place as saving the position obtained by Double-click though.
Saving the position obtained by Ctrl-click saves it to the same place as saving the position obtained by Double-click though.

Indeed these are rounding errors. You get a different between the calculations of percentage (50%) -> pixels, and the opposite, pixels -> percentage. I will try to find a workaround.
