Does anyone know if there is a pocket version that will work on sybian phones or if there is any plans on developing a version of Total Commander for symbian?

I'm sorry, no. The PocketPC version was already a lot of work
(complete rewrite), but not too difficult because it has the same
windows functions as the PC. But a Symbian version would be
completely different.
I made a Web search for Symbian Commander and got a few hits, but I have no idea how good this tool is, since I don't have any device with the Symbian operating system.

I've tried the Midnight Commander version for Symbian - it was awful to put it mildly, plus it costs. But as Symbian is a Linux based device, it should be possible to build your own with the MC source.

Another good commander-style manager for J2ME phones is MiniCommander. Homepage (in English & Russian).
