I guess thumbs.db is already used indirectly. When using the Explorer method the called Windows function reads thumbs from thumbs.db if enabled system-wide. TC then of course stores the thumb in its own database.

This is only true for folders. Requesting the thumbs for files via OLE2 doesn't seem to use the thumbs.db...
