runas-savecred
hi
found it very comfortable working under xp using the
runas.exe /user:Administrator /savecred command as a restricted user.
works perfect with totalcommander 6.56 but not anymore with
TC7RC1.
any chance to get this implemented again?
thanks

you might be right that this is not a special tc feature.....SanskritFritz wrote:2ceeboks
I dont think this is a TC feature. TC is just started with another user credentials by windows. Can you describe, what is not working in particular?

well, i click on the link on my desktop to start TC. (C:\WINDOWS\system32\runas.exe /user:Administrator /savecred "D:\ Programme\TotalCommander \totalcmd\Totalcmd.exe".
any tc 6 version got launched now with that command.
but not tc7rc1.....
a dialog window (Öffnen) pops up, asking for the path to the totalcmd.exe.
i choose the .exe, click on open and nothing happens.....
i never tested a tc 7beta. just the rc1.
??
thanks for your reply

2ceeboks: Confirmed ! runas command fails (with TC 7rc1) while 6.56 works fine
I tried successfully LaunchTC by Lefteous which does almost the same, but works like a charm on an USB stick/CD too.
2SanskritFritz: runas should run in parallel to an existing instance, just using another user environment/permissions.

True, I just suspected, that there was maybe an instance previously started with the same settings, that was unable to show the gui.2SanskritFritz: runas should run in parallel to an existing instance, just using another user environment/permissions.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!
