RC1 + U3

Can anyone tell me if their is a new version of TC on the U3 build?

I thought their is nothing special about the U3 versus the standard besides the paths used (%u3_device...%).

I would copy RC1 over to the U3 drive, but I am not sure how much pathing would be messed up and need to be fixed.

Just don't copy your wincmd.ini and your .bar files to your U3 device but use the ones that are all ready there.

You'll have to redo any adjustments you made to your RC1 configuration once again, when you start it from the U3 device.

I don't believe this will work cause the U3 drive uses a different format than just the regualar USB version.

The structure of TC on a U3 drive is different. Their is only 3 folders and the compressed executeable

Data (Plugins Dir, Bar Files and Ini Files)
Exec (Language Dir & Key)
Icons (I created this dir for the button bar icons)
Totalcmd.u3p

Well, if that is the case then just update the totalcmd.u3p installer - it is a zip compressed file - just press Ctrl+PgDn to open it.

Then you will see 4 folders:

Data
Device
Host
Manifest

Open the Host dir and replace the files with the corresponding files in your TC7 program dir. Leave the killtcmd.exe file as is, and make sure to add the new files WCMICONS.INC and TCMADMIN.EXE

Open the Device dir and replace the totalcmd.hlp file, and open the Device\language dir and replace all the .lng and .mnu files plus the German totalcmd.hlp (WCMD_DEU.HLP) file if needed.

Now you should have a TC7 installer for U3 devices...
