Synchronize Dirs: extract from RAR self-aborting [RC1]
"Synchronize dirs" aborts operation, when extracting from a RAR archive containing 2 copies of the same file in different directories (they need to be of identical size and date/time).
This problem does not occur with other tested archive formats containing the same file structure (with ZIP, TAR, ARJ, LHA, ACE, TGZ everything seems to be OK).
Also extracting via F5 or WinRAR (context menu/rmb) is working correct.
An example rar archive can be downloaded here:
TC7_sync-fail_RAR-extract.rar
or
TC7_sync-fail_RAR-extract.rar
To reproduce:
- TC left side: open the RAR archive
- TC right side: open an empty directory on local HDD
- call Commands / Synchronize Dirs
- push "Compare" button
- push "Synchronize" button
=> Only the files from root dir are synchronized, then the process is stopped (what it shouldn't be here) and compare starts again.
When you push the "Synchronize" button again, the rest of the files gets extracted.
Screenshots:
start
after 1. sync run
after 2. sync run
BTW, extracting from UC2 in "Synchronize Dirs" seems to be impossible: when pushing the sync button, nothing gets done.

Tried that in SeaMonkey, Firefox and MS Explorer - keep getting the message that "the server could not be found".For the first link at yah*o: please try to simply left-click the link, wait for the file being sent and choose "Save file to disk"
Worked fine.I've added a link to a second location at box.net
Can confirm the bug now!

I could reproduce it now too. The problem isn't the identical names, but that files from multiple directory levels need to be unpacked. TC sorts the files the wrong way, so not all are unpacked. They can be unpacked in a second unpack step, though, just press Synchronize again. I already found a way to fix it for the next RC release.

Thanks! Unfortunately this change caused a new bug in the ftp sync function.
I will bring out a new RC as soon as I can.
