ENTER don't open archives [sometimes]
I don't remember witch topic has the same problem, but it was reported before:
TC7rc1
Sometimes, (not ever), with ENTER, archives are not opened. Only Ctrl-Pg.Down is available to see inside archives. With ENTER WinRAR is lanced, for example.
It's not the normal behavior of TC.
Can somebody give me the answer?
Best wishes,
TC7rc1

Hello!
• Some packer-plugins cannot support ENTER to open their archives, i.e. *.AES.
- This is not a TC issue…
- Which extensions cause a problem for you ?

I can open .aes archives without problems by pressing Enter. I use the Aes 0.6.3 plugin ( http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/aes.html )Some packer-plugins cannot support ENTER to open their archives, i.e. *.AES.

I see. It's about 7z (7-Zip) extension. I have installed TC 7zip plugin.
Is curious that sometimes I don't need ctrl-pg.down with such extension.
It's enough just ENTER.
And the archiver witch is open is WinRAR.
Thanks!

Check if you have any associations for .7z files - and remove them if you have.

I reinstall the 7z plugin and I saw the default extension was 7zip not 7z.
Now I made the default extension of 7z archiver '7z' (not '7zip') and it's OK!
The little bug is, but into 7z plugin.
Thank you very much Peter!

I have this same problem, when I double click/enter a zip file it gets opened in WinRAR. I just tried installing a plugin by opening the zip, and of course that didn't work. All my check boxes seem to be in order (always use internal unzip etc). I tried removing the association of WinRAR to Zip files, but now the zips get opened in Windows Explorer instead... :S
Anything else I might try?

Try see [PackerPlugins] section from wincmd.ini (your configuration file).bjornkri wrote:I have this same problem, when I double click/enter a zip file it gets opened in WinRAR. I just noticed that if I associate zips with (none), they automatically become associated with "Compressed (zipped) Folder (rundll32.exe zipfldr.dll,RouteTheCall %L)" (may have to open the Associate With... dialogue two times to see this happen).
Other than that, all compressed files are opened with WinRAR, it seems. Is there maybe a setting somewhere I could have changed this behaviour for all compressed files at once that maybe I could revert?

Well, I solved it.
I have another install on a different computer where the zips and all work fine. I copied that wincmd.ini over, and suddenly it was working. Then changed back to my original wincmd.ini... and everything is back to my preferred settings AND the zips still work.
Very weird, but works.
